Competence and care
Work within your competence and lawful scope. Maintain relevant learning and insurance where required. Use appropriate hygiene, equipment and record-keeping procedures. Refer matters beyond your competence to an appropriate professional.
Clients and learners
Explain the service, material limitations, fees and cancellation terms before agreement. Respect informed decisions, confidentiality, dignity and accessibility. Do not pressure a person to accept a service or purchase.
Give people time to ask questions and make a choice before they commit. Explain a material change to the service or its cost before proceeding. Consent to publicity, photographs or the use of a testimonial is separate from agreement to receive a service; declining publicity must not be treated as a failure to cooperate.
Honest representation
Describe qualifications, membership and recognition accurately. Do not extend an EUBF designation to activities or locations outside its scope. Declare conflicts that could affect professional judgement.
Accountability
Keep proportionate records, respond to concerns and cooperate with an authorised review. Breaches may lead to corrective action, suspension or termination under the applicable procedure.
