Activities and results
Read participation figures alongside the result they describe. Funding a place, attending a course and completing its requirements are separate outcomes; a report should identify which participants are included in each figure. Sessions delivered and resources produced describe the work carried out.
Claims about longer-term changes in employment, income or wellbeing need further evidence. Check whether a reported benefit is based on follow-up findings, participants’ own accounts or an expectation that has yet to be tested. Participation alone does not establish that a change occurred or that the programme caused it.
Methods
Reports explain the period covered, data sources, population measured, follow-up method and limitations. Quotations and case studies require permission. Personal information is aggregated or omitted where appropriate.
Resources
Financial reporting distinguishes committed support from amounts paid and identifies the relevant project costs. Contributions in kind are explained separately.
Learning from delivery
Reports record difficulties and changes as well as achievements. Corrections are dated and linked to the affected publication.
