Codes, standards and guidance
The Code of Professional Conduct sets out members’ duties. Recognition standards establish the requirements assessed under each scheme. Guidance helps professionals apply these responsibilities in practice, while policies explain the procedures EUBF follows.
Start with the document that governs your relationship with EUBF. A member uses the Code and membership rules; a recognition applicant also needs the requirements for the chosen scheme. A guide can help explain an approach, but it should not be mistaken for the criteria on which an application will be decided.
Scope and application
Each document names its audience, activities and effective version. Local laws and licensing requirements continue to apply. A voluntary EUBF standard does not create legal permission to practise.
Keeping standards current
Changes are reviewed for evidence, practicality and their effect on participants. Material revisions include a transition period and an explanation of how existing records are affected.
Raising a concern
Use the complaints procedure for concerns within EUBF’s remit. Use an appeal to challenge an eligible formal decision.
