Practice and ethics
Work on practice and ethics addresses professional conduct, practical guidance and responsibility towards clients and learners. Advice remains within EUBF’s professional remit.
Education and quality
Work on education and quality addresses learning outcomes, assessment, educator competence and quality assurance. Recognition decisions are made through the separate assessment procedure.
Research and public benefit
Work on research and public benefit addresses the quality of evidence, programme design and evaluation. Those involved must declare relevant funding interests.
How committees work
Each committee record states its membership, term, mandate and reporting arrangements. Publications and consultations are linked to the responsible committee. Advice becomes EUBF policy only through the designated approval process.
A mandate defines the question to be examined, the expertise needed and the body that will consider the recommendation. Committee work may draw on research, consultation responses and experience from practice. The resulting advice should explain its evidence and limitations so that the approving body can assess the recommendation and its implications.
