Community learning partnerships

Community projects begin with an identified learning need and a partner able to deliver appropriate support.

Community learning partnerships

Project design

The project agreement identifies participants, learning objectives, activities, responsibilities and resources. It explains what the project can provide and any limits on the service.

Begin with the people the project is intended to serve and the learning need they have identified. Explain how the proposed activity responds to that need, who can deliver it and how participants will be supported. Distinguish the resources already available from those being requested, so responsibilities and commitments can be agreed on a realistic basis.

Partnerships

Delivery responsibilities

Partners nominate a responsible lead and suitable educators. Safeguarding, accessibility, consent, insurance and referral arrangements must match the activity and participants.

Professional boundaries

Community education does not replace medical care or services requiring a licence. Any specialist activity must be delivered by appropriately qualified and authorised people.

Accountability

Partners record delivery, expenditure and participant feedback. Public reporting uses consented or aggregated information. Interested organisations can submit a partnership enquiry describing the local need and their capacity.
